Alright loves, I’m just going to cut right to the chase. I’m here today to talk about the expectations we (I) have for new people, and why that can just blow up in our (my) faces! Whee! Continue reading “People: Eternally Disappointing”
I told my therapist on Thursday that I’m having an upswing–feeling good, getting things done. She calls that “the And place.” Continue reading “Saturday Share: Back on an Upswing”
Back when I first started prepping for Blogtober, when Saturdays were supposed to be for fashion posts, I initially intended for the last Friday Free-For-All to be a kind of diary post of what I’d been up to this month. Then I nixed the fashion posts in favor of diary posts and had to come up with something else to do for this last Friday!
I didn’t have time to do another craft post or anything like that. I thought about posting some photography, but I’m actually planning to post my photography on a different site (details to come when I’m back from my NaNoWriMo hiatus).
What to do, what to do?
How about spreading a little love, huh? I have had so much support over the last couple months and I’m so grateful.
Last time I did a blog recs post was back in January. You can check that out here (and be sure to follow all those wonderful folks (the one’s who haven’t deleted or stopped posting, anyway–I’m so sad, some of my favorite people have gone inactive). People with real lives to take care of aside, there are still incredible active bloggers on that list and you should go give them some love!
But, my list of blogger friends has grown this year and I think it’s time to do another recommendation (especially since even last time that was hardly every one I could recommend to you). So, this Friday Free-For-All is a Follow Friday! Whoo! Continue reading “Friday Free-For-All: Follow Friday”
Last week, I talked about all the incredible new friends I’ve met over the last year or so. Like I said, making friends has never been easy for me. I was never the person who had a big group of friends–I always had a few select close friends I could count on.
And I can still count on them. Continue reading “Thankful Thursday: Old Friends”
So, I’d originally planned for Saturdays to be fashion posts for Blogtober, because I really do enjoy putting outfits together and sharing them. But, honestly, I’m feeling very self-conscious and don’t like how I looked in any of the pictures. The outfit didn’t seem to fit right and looked frumpy and just… I didn’t like it, I didn’t like seeing myself, so I’m scrapping that idea. I’m much more comfortable behind the camera, anyway.
Which leaves me in a bit of a pickle about what to do for Saturdays.
While I try to figure out what to do for the remaining three Saturdays, please enjoy this update about what’s been going on with me, lately. Continue reading “A Blogtober Switch-Up – Saturday Share”
I’ve never been great at making friends. In high school, the way I made friends was latching onto one or two nice people who made the mistake of being polite to me and integrating myself into their friend-group. After high school, I had one person who I could honestly call my friend (and even then barely), and all of my social outings happened through her.
Through her, I met Pup, and when she and I fell out, Pup’s friends became my new friends. After we fell out with them, it was pretty much just me and Pup against the world, even after we broke up.
But, lately, I’ve been making friends left-and-right. And, honestly, I couldn’t be more grateful. Continue reading “Thankful Thursday: New Friends”
I’m chalking the negative feelings I’m having towards some friends up to Mercury Retrograde and the fuckery it’s conducting with communication. I don’t usually “feel” Mercury Retrograde, because communication and decision making is always a nightmare for me (thanks, anxiety), but I’m feeling this one, I think.
I’m just really sick of some of the people in my life having to be contrary all the time. Especially on Facebook, where I would say probably half of my friends there are people I’ve never actually met, but have known online for 10+ years. Lately it seems like the only times people want to comment on something is to rain on the parade. Continue reading “Mercury Retrograde and Social Depression”
