WordPress.com: An Interlude

Some months ago, WordPress.com laid down some fuckery and I decided not to renew my premium plan or domain here on From Adie, with Love.

I figured I would either move self-hosted or switch to Blogger, neither of which particularly appealed to me for a number of reasons.

I’ve been playing around on Blogger, and I just… I hate it. I hate it so much. I can’t tell you particularly¬†why I find it so awful. Objectively speaking, there’s nothing wrong with it. It functions on par with, if not better than WordPress.com. I just. Don’t. Like it. I hate how limiting the layouts are. I’m also not keen on moving any of my old content over there, since it would all have to be done manually, one post at a time, since as far as I know there’s no way to import WordPress into Blogger.

Yea… no.

The thing is… self-hosting is expensive and I just don’t make enough (read: any) money from this blog or my online stores to justify the cost. If I’m going to invest actual money into blogging at this point, I want a return on the investment that at least breaks even. I don’t foresee that happening… ever.

So, I’ve decided I’m just going to keep my blog hosted here at WordPress.com for free, no custom URL, no premium layouts, no fancy bullshit. I might decide to move it self-hosted in the future, but for now it’s not worth the hassle or money to bother moving it from WordPress.com. *shrug*

The fromadiewithlove.com domain expires in May, so I suggest you update your bookmarks to fromadiewithlove.wordpress.com

I love you all!
