Music Monday: Imagine Dragons

Lately, I’ve been on a huge Imagine Dragons kick. This band has rapidly become one of my all-time favorites. I bought their first three albums (I haven’t gotten the chance to buy their newest, yet) and 90% of the songs just blow me away. Even the other 10% are still damn good.

Their lead singer/songwriter, Dan Reynolds, struggles with two physical illnesses as well as depression. A lot of the bands songs seem to relate to these struggles, particularly my favorite song “Monster” which really speaks to me in regards to how I feel about my own mental illnesses.

On top of that, the musicianship is incredible and Dan’s voice is my newest obsession. His voice combined with the band’s lyrics evoke a deep soul that is absolutely captivating.

So, to kick off Blogtober, I want to share some incredible songs from one of my favorite bands.

I hope you guys enjoyed this Blogtober kick-off, and I’ll see you tomorrow with a Tasty Tuesday.

I love you all.

  1. Dan Reynolds is also a big LGBTQ rights advocate and he’s not bad to look at–so, he’s pretty much an angel in my book.

  2. Adie! This was a kickass way to start! The only song I’ve heard from Imagine Dragons prior to this was “Radioactive,” which I really like. I don’t know why I haven’t heard more from them on the radio. Dan Reynolds voice is so magnetic. Instantly recognizable. There is theatre in this music and I love that! I’m glad I have you and Allen to introduce/expose me to music because I’m always open to hearing new stuff and also old/er stuff that maybe I haven’t heard before! Great post! Looking forward to tomorrow!

    • Honestly, there is not a song of theirs I’ve heard that doesn’t just lay me out flat. His voice really is one of the best I’ve heard in a long, long time. It really hits me hard. A few of my other Music Monday posts coming up are playlists and it’s tough not to just fill them with Imagine Dragons because I really am just soooo obsessed with them right now lol!

  3. I’m an old rocker from the 60s & 70s and they are even able to strike a cord with someone my age. I love their music as well!

  4. Absolutely love Imagine Dragons! Whatever It Takes is my latest favorite. Pretty sure my boyfriend knows the lyrics by heart due to me listening to it non-stop – much to his frustration since he prefers heavier music, hah. 🙂
