Life Ain't Bad

Alternately titled: What I was doing while I forgot the internet existed!

Have I mentioned that I can’t wait for the new semester to start, because I desperately need a routine to be able to function? If not, let me assure you: I can’t, because I do.

I mean, I think most people would be happy that their Real Lifeβ„’ is so full and bustling that they haven’t had time for the internet. And, I’m sure if I didn’t know so many incredible people online and love you all so very, very much, I’d probably also be happy to forget the internet exists. But, I do enjoy keeping up with all of you, so I don’t like when I don’t have at least a little time to devote to my social media (which I consider myself lucky if I remember to check it twice a day) and to this space.

Although, in a general sense, I am happy with some of the things I’ve been doing, lately. Happy enough that I want to share them with you.

First, you may remember that I’ve been on a bit of a jewelry making kick. I made a few more pieces and I think I’m ready to put them up on Etsy to see if I can get any sales. I just… need to figure out how to use Etsy.

I’m pretty pleased with how these came out. I’m half tempted to keep that big quartz geode piece (it looks kind of like amethyst in the picture, but it’s not–it’s a regular quartz that has been artificially colored a smoky blue-grey), but I actually kept about half of the finished pieces. These are just the things I plan on putting up for sale.

I’m excited about that. Hopefully, they’ll strike some people’s fancy. If not, I can always give them to friends as gifts.

In addition to starting an Etsy shop, I also have a couple other projects I’m in the planning stages of. Everything is still too early to really talk about just yet, but I have my fingers crossed that I can make things work.

Not to be forgotten, I’m still chugging away editing my book. I’m hoping I can do the first rewrite for NaNoWriMo, so we’ll see.

Allen, from The Midnight Goose, also asked about doing guest posts for each other. I’m currently working on something to send him. My keyboard is getting quite a work out!

Today is the last day of my summer class and I have next week off before the Fall semester starts. I think next time I take a summer class, I will take it on campus so I can maintain my set routine.

So, while I am very much looking forward to getting back into a fixed rhythm, I gotta admit, life ain’t bad.

I love you all.

  1. Adie,
I knew you were up to really great things! I’m excited about your jewelry. I’ve never ordered anything on Etsy. I’m not even sure if I’ve been on it before! But when you get it going, please walk us through what we need to do to find you. I love cool beads and jewelry and wear them all of the time. I’m excited! Glad all is well with you and your projects!

  2. I can’t wait to see your Etsy shop (that site is SO ADDICTIVE) and to be first in line to buy your book! I’m glad that you’re doing productive, soul-replenishing activities and forgetting about the internet from time to time. That’s something I need to learn to do! Nothing but love, blog buddy!

  3. Love that jewelry you made! Can’t wait for your shop to be up and running. I understand about neglecting social media. I’ve got so many outlets for promoting the blog plus my own personal account on Facebook. It’s hard to stay on top of them all. Just take care of yourself. The internet (and all of us) will still be here! 😁
