Sartorial Saturday: The Witch Jacket, part 2

Last week I mentioned that my purple jacket shrank during the dying process and was now too small for me. I would have to rebuild my witch jacket from scratch, a task I wasn’t looking forward to, at all.

But, the desire to procrastinate on my homework is strong and I managed to get it done in a day.

I also said I was going to take better pictures of it, but the last thing I want to do is take pictures while I’m bloated and cramping, so you get the cell phone pictures my mom took. They’re not bad pictures, they’re just not great. There’s also just two of them: front and back. I’ll definitely post better pictures of just the vest later if anyone wants to see.

Ain’t I just goddamn beautiful?*

The majority of this vest came from Babe Gang Patches (if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen me mention her a thousand times; she’s wonderful and I love her stuff), with other pins from Bombasine, The Wily Fox, and Punkypins, and other patches from This Bloody Sabbath, Belial Clothing, Poison Apple Print Shop, and Amazon.

*If you’re curious why the skull and crossbones, I’ve made the decision to scrub my face from my social media. I deleted my selfies from Instagram and am replacing pictures that have my face visible with pictures where my face is covered. I’m doing this in an effort to maintain some level of anonymity. As I’m starting to talk more about my personal life again, including my religious beliefs which are a bit off the norm, I feel it’s necessary to take precautions in regards to making sure nothing can come back and bite me in the ass once I graduate and start working in a professional field. “My magical crystal ball tells me you’re full of shit” is not quite the level of professionalism I hope to portray career-wise. I’m at a point in my life where I would much rather censor my face than censor my words.

I hope you’re all not too disappointed you won’t get to see my ugly mug anymore. 😉

I love you all.

  1. It’s strange, I have been considering doing a “The Face Behind Damn Girl” and showing my mug….. it’s a big decision!

    • It is. I’ve been debating taking a more anonymous approach to this blog for a while–I actually stopped using my first name and deleted a whole mess of personal posts back at the beginning of the summer. When I was convinced that my job would be being a novelist, I wasn’t worried about it so much. But, now that I’m pursuing something more straight-laced, I’m a little warier about having myself so out there. I talked to a friend of mine who uses a pen name for her more “adult” writing and she basically said, “Better safe than sorry,” so that’s kind of what I’m going with.

      • Yea, thats sounds wise. My husbands company didn’t hire a girl who was infinitely qualified because she did some stand up comedy and her skits were on youtube and they contained cursing (eyeroll)
